Our Story - Inspired by Suli, the Sun

Suli means “sun” in Sicilian

But when we first met him, he was anything but sunny.

We found him behind a trash bin — eyes sealed shut from infection, barely moving, skin and bones. Abandoned, sick, forgotten.

We didn’t plan to adopt a cat. But something in him - in his quiet will to survive - stayed with us.

We brought him home. Slowly, gently, he healed.

And in the soft days that followed — curled in sunbeams, purring at the window — he reminded us of what really matters: warmth, care, and the comfort of feeling safe.

That’s how Casa Suli got its name. A place built in his spirit — where people can rest, recharge, and feel the sun on their face. A workation home in Siracusa, made for calm and connection.

Shop Sicily

But even before the house, there was Shop Sicily - our way of sharing the Mediterranean soul with others.

It started small: a few jars of olive oil, local sweets, and the desire to bring Sicilian flavour to Northern Europe.

Today, both dreams live side by side. One to taste. One to experience.

All inspired by a little cat with a big heart - and an island full of warmth.
